  2022年のクパチーノ桜祭りは、久しぶりに対面で行われます。宗香会も茶道の紹介のために参加の予定です。皆様、どうぞいらしてください。

 The 2022 Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival will be held in person. Soka-kai will be there to introduce the Japanese culture of the tea ceremony. Please come and join us.

クパチーノ桜祭りのバーチャル・フェスティバルが行われました。宗香会からは、2020年1月26日に行われた淡交会SF支部の「点初式」の様子を紹介しました。

The Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival Virtual Festival was held on April 24, 2021. Soka-kai introduced the Chado Urasenke Tankokai Tatezomeshiki tea party held on January 26, 2020.

2020 Tatezomeshiki 淡交会SF支部 点初式

Chado Urasenke Tankokai San Francisco Association celebrated the Tatezomeshiki and luncheon 2020.
Tatezomeshiki was held by Kobara shachyu this year. It was the first ohatsugama in Reiwa. This year's Hatugamaha featured the theme of plums after the waka collection of plum blossoms in Manyoshu, the Japanese oldest waka collection. All members worked hard for each guest.
裏千家淡交会サンフランシスコ支部の点初式が行われました。元号が令和になって初めての御初釜を、小原社中が担当しました。令和の由来となった万葉集の「梅花の歌三十二首併せて序」にちなみ、梅をテーマとしました。会員の皆様の素晴らしいチームワークで、お客様一人一人を大切におもてなしすることができました。

This year again, our group introduced the Urasenke tea ceremony at the Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival.

September 23, 2018, Mrs. Kobara and Sokokai held the tea ceremony to celebrate Mrs. Kobara's 50 years of teaching Urasenke chado.

　2015年のサンフランシスコ桜祭りにおいて、プログラムの冊子に小原先生とご家族の記事が載りました。

　小原先生とそのご家族お一人お一人の尽力によって、サンフランシスコ・ベイエリアに茶道を根付かせることができたことについての紹介記事です。お手元にある方は是非お読みください。

Japan Expo in San Mateo ジャパンエキスポでの茶道紹介

Chado Urasenke Tankokai San Francisco Association was asked by the Consulate General of Japan San Francisco office to participate in the 2nd Annual Japan Expo. The Japan Expo was a 3-day event held at the San Mateo County Event Center. The Japan Expo had a variety of activities related to Japanese manga, anime, fashion, music, cinema, video games, martial arts and traditions arts. There were exhibitor booths displaying Japanese arts and goods. Despite all the other events going on, we had an audience of about 20-25 people.
Our group performed the Misono-Dana usucha otemae at the Wabi Sabi stage on Sunday, August 24th at 2:00 pm.
After the demonstration, we served tea and okashi to the Japan Expo event coordinators. 

　サンフランシスコ総領事館からの依頼により、ジャパンエキスポにて茶道裏千家淡交会サンフランシスコ支部が茶道の紹介を行いました。この度のジャパンエキスポは２０１４年８月２４日にサンマテオ市のサンマテオカウンティ・イベントセンターで開催され、日本のマンガ、アニメ、ファッション、音楽、映画、ビデオゲーム、武道や伝統技能、伝統芸能に関連するさまざまな紹介が行われたほか、日本の伝統技術による手工芸品や日本文化に関連した品々の展示もありました。 淡交会サンフランシスコ支部は「侘寂」（わびさび）ステージにて、小原名誉師範が御園棚による薄茶手前を行いました。 
　淡交会SF支部において小原名誉師範と宗香会が今回のデモンストレーションと茶道紹介の中心となり、企画から準備、実施までを行いました。

Holiday Tea at Asian Art Museum 除夜釜

　サンフランシスコのアジア美術館にて、恒例のHoliday Tea（除夜釜）が催されました。

美術館内3ヶ所で、裏千家と表千家によるデモンストレーションが行われ、宗香会でも1席を担当しました。参観者には、お菓子と薄茶が振る舞われました。

　To celebrate the end of the year, Holiday Tea Demonstration and Testing is held at Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. In three locations inside of the museum, tea rooms were set and both Urasenke and Omotesenke performed tea ceremony demonstration. Sokokai performed for Urasenke.  Japanese sweets and thin tea were served to the audience.

Sen Genshitsu Grand Master Visited San Francisco 千 玄室大宗匠SF御訪問

9月7日より11日まで、鵬雲斎大宗匠がサンフランシスコ講和条約及び旧日米安全保障条約の締結60周年記念の式典のため、サンフランシスコを訪問されました。宗香会からは小原先生と会員が献茶式、大宗匠をお迎えしての晩餐会などに出席をいたしました。

  From September 07 to 11, Sen Genshitsu Tea Master visited San Francisco for 60th anniversary of the signing of the San Francisco Peace Treaty and the Japan-US Security Treaty of 1951. Urasenke 15th Grand Master, Dr. Genshitsu Sen, performed a solemn tea ceremony praying for world peace as well as friendship and further development of Japan-US relations. From Sokokai, Kobara-sensei and some members attended the tea ceremony and reception.
