Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival クパチーノ桜祭り2015

The Cupertino Cherry Blossom festival was held on April 25 &26, 2015. As in the past, Sokokai did a demonstration to introduce Urasenke Chado. This year, many senior and young members participated in not only for demonstration but also bringing items, mizuya, and many things to make it successful. Because of the members hard work, our demonstration was splendid this year.
　クパティーノ市の桜祭りにおいて、今年も宗香会による裏千家茶道の紹介が行われました。今回はデモンストレーション、水屋、お道具の持ち寄りなど様ざまな準備に新旧多くの会員の皆様がご協力くださり、とても華やかな紹介となりました。

After the demonstration, we celebrated Kobara sensei's birthday.
この日は多くの会員がお集まりくださり、茶道紹介のあとは小原先生の誕生祝いに皆様でお食事をいたしました。

San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival 2015 サンフランシスコ桜祭り

　2015年のサンフランシスコ桜祭りにおいて、プログラムの冊子に小原先生とご家族の記事が載りました。

　小原先生とそのご家族お一人お一人の尽力によって、サンフランシスコ・ベイエリアに茶道を根付かせることができたことについての紹介記事です。お手元にある方は是非お読みください。

Hatsugama 2015 初釜

2015's Hatsugama was held on January 11. This year, senior students and new students gathered together and enjoyed new year's tea.
本年の御初釜には新旧の弟子が集い、明るく和やかな新年の茶会となりました。

Robiraki 2014 炉開き

Robiraki 2014 was held on November 9.
This year, three of Sokokai members have pasted away. They had been students of  Kobara-sensei for more than 40 years, and helped her to introduce Chado to SF bay area. We did Hanayose Kuyo (Flower Offering) in their memory.

2014年の炉開きが11月9日に行われました。今年度、宗香会の会員で小原先生に４０年来師事され、SFベイエリアに茶道を広めるために小原先生の手となり足となりご尽力くださった御三方の訃報に際し、花寄せの供養を行いました。

Japan Expo in San Mateo ジャパンエキスポでの茶道紹介

Chado Urasenke Tankokai San Francisco Association was asked by the Consulate General of Japan San Francisco office to participate in the 2nd Annual Japan Expo. The Japan Expo was a 3-day event held at the San Mateo County Event Center. The Japan Expo had a variety of activities related to Japanese manga, anime, fashion, music, cinema, video games, martial arts and traditions arts. There were exhibitor booths displaying Japanese arts and goods. Despite all the other events going on, we had an audience of about 20-25 people.
Our group performed the Misono-Dana usucha otemae at the Wabi Sabi stage on Sunday, August 24th at 2:00 pm.
After the demonstration, we served tea and okashi to the Japan Expo event coordinators. 

　サンフランシスコ総領事館からの依頼により、ジャパンエキスポにて茶道裏千家淡交会サンフランシスコ支部が茶道の紹介を行いました。この度のジャパンエキスポは２０１４年８月２４日にサンマテオ市のサンマテオカウンティ・イベントセンターで開催され、日本のマンガ、アニメ、ファッション、音楽、映画、ビデオゲーム、武道や伝統技能、伝統芸能に関連するさまざまな紹介が行われたほか、日本の伝統技術による手工芸品や日本文化に関連した品々の展示もありました。 淡交会サンフランシスコ支部は「侘寂」（わびさび）ステージにて、小原名誉師範が御園棚による薄茶手前を行いました。 
　淡交会SF支部において小原名誉師範と宗香会が今回のデモンストレーションと茶道紹介の中心となり、企画から準備、実施までを行いました。

Hatsugama 2014 was held on January 5.  "Jouou-dana" is used for this year's otemae.

2014年の御初釜は1月5日に行われました。紹鷗棚（じょうおうだな）でのお点前でした。
